Shellder

Shellder are Water-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They evolve into Cloyster when they are exposed to Water Stones.

Characteristics

Shellder are pearl-like Pokémon. They are black colored. They have a blue spiky shell that opens from the front. They are small Pokémon and weigh around 4 kilograms or 8.8 pounds. They are 0.3 meters tall.

They have a very large red tongues coming out of their mouths. They use their tongue to burrow themselves into the sand at night.

They also use it to lure and capture their prey. Their soft bodies are protected by their durable shells. Their shell coverings are harder than diamonds. People used them in old times to make shields. Shellder can make pearls from the sand.

They like to feed on the tails of Slowpoke. Therefore, they often form a mutual relationship with them over food. Finally, they attach themselves to their tail, and Slowpoke evolves into Slowbro.

However, if they attach to Slowpoke in possession of a King’s Rock, they evolve into Slowking. This mutual relationship helps Shellder get out of the water and move to land. In the Galarian region, they attach to the forearms and heads of Slowpokes.

Once they are attached, their eyes peer from the bottom part of their shell. Their leveling rate is prolonged. When in crown form, they release venom into Slowking’s brain. It causes Slowking’s intelligence to increase.

A higher quantity of venom causes this effect to intensify, and Shellder continues to release their venom every time Slowking yawns. However, this makes Slowking sluggish as Shellder feed on Slowking’s nutrients. Therefore, they only clamp themselves on their foe as an extreme measure.
