87 – Dewgong

Japanese: ジュゴン Jugon

Dewgong are dual-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They are both Water-type and Ice-type Pokémon. They evolve from Seel starting at Level 34. They are seen in icebergs in frigid waters.

Characteristics

Dewgong are seal-like Pokémon. They have a snowy white body covered in thick, warm fur. They weigh around 120 kilograms or 264 pounds. They are 1.7 meters tall with a Medium Fast leveling rate.

Their snowy fur makes them invisible in snowy conditions. Their face has two black eyes and sharp tusks in their upper jaws. Their body is streamlined, and they are excellent swimmers. They have two front flippers and a long tail.

Even in extreme cold conditions and ice-packed waters, their tails enable them to be swift swimmers. It can swim with high speeds of up to 9 knots. On top of their heads, they have a sharp horn. This horn helps them to cut through ice and icy structures. It also helps them while swimming.

Dewgong are known to thrive in low temperatures and become more active as temperatures drop. They become dull in warm temperatures or summers. They store thermal energy in their body.

It helps them survive and stay completely unharmed even in the most extreme weather. During the daytime, they sleep on icebergs or under shallow waters. At night the temperature drops, and dewgong can hunt for their prey.

They are known to hunt Wishiwashis. After a good meal, they sunbathe on the beach. Sunbathing raises their body temperature and helps them in digestion. The anime shows them as thoughtful creatures who can easily fall in love.
