Abilities

    • Effect-Spore

Whenever a move makes contact with this Pokémon, the move's user has a 30% chance of being paralyzed, poisoned, or put to sleep, chosen at random. Nothing is done to compensate if the move's user is immune to one of these ailments; there is simply a lower chance that the move's user will be affected.

    • Dry-Skin

This Pokémon takes 1/8 of its maximum HP in damage after each turn during strong sunlight, but it heals for 1/8 of its HP each turn during rain. This Pokémon takes 1.25× as much damage from fire-type moves, but whenever a water move hits it, it heals for 1/4 its maximum HP instead.

Hidden Abilities

    • Damp

While this Pokémon is in battle, self destruct and explosion will fail and aftermath will not take effect.

Paras

Paras are dual-type Pokémon. They are bug-type as well as grass-type Pokémon. Paras evolves into Parasect from Level 24. In the anime, it is shown that Paras are usually found in caves. They are also popularly found in damp forests of the Alolan regions.

Characteristics

Paras are small orange-colored Pokémon. They weigh around 5.5 kilograms or 12 pounds and are almost 1 foot tall. They are insect-like Pokémon. They resemble the nymph stage of a cicada.

Their body has segments, and they have six legs to move around. Their front two legs are the strongest and biggest, and both have a pair of claws.

Their forehead and teeth have specks. Their eyes are circular, and they have dark spots as pupils. Their species are 50% male and 50% female.

Tochukaso, a red-yellow mushroom, grows on the back of their bodies. This mushroom can be removed from a paras’ body at any time. When Paras are born, their mother douses a spore on their back which grows into a Tochukaso.

Tochukaso harms Paras as the mushroom takes all of its nutrition from the Paras’ body. These mushrooms have many medicinal uses, and many collectors look for them. They are also used in formulas known to extend life.

Paras have a signature move called spore involving these mushrooms. Paras found in Alolan regions do not have prominent mushrooms on their backs as they do not get proper moisture and nutrients.
