Gloom

Gloom is a dual-type Pokémon. It was first introduced in Generation I. It is both grass and a poison-type Pokémon. Gloom evolves from Oddish starting at level 21.

Gloom can either develop into Vileplume on exposure to Leaf Stone or Bellossom on Sun Stone exposure.

Characteristics

Gloom is a relatively large Pokémon as compared to Oddish. It weighs around 8.6 kilograms or 19 pounds and is a little over 2 meters tall. Gloom is a blue Pokémon that looks like a plant. Their species are 50% male and 50% female.

They have under-developed feet and hands. They walk on their two legs. They have a flower on their heads. This flower has circular petals with reddish-brown leaves. The petals of the flowers have white spots on them. Their distinct feature is the spots on their petals.

It is what distinguishes their male and female species. Males have many small spots on their petals. On the other hand, females only have one spot on each petal. Gloom has very wide eyes, but they keep them closed most of the time.

Their lips are purple and thin. Their signature petal dance move makes them a popular Pokémon. They consistently produce nectar from their mouth. It makes it seem like they are drooling.

Their nectar is very beneficial and can be used to fertilize plants. Their nectar and flowers have a very foul smell. Humans have even fainted from this smell.

They can smell it from over a mile away. However, some humans find this smell pleasing. Preys are also attracted to their nectar. It is used in the production of perfumes.

When Gloom feels that they are in danger, they eject the smell. However, if they feel safe, they will not emit the odor.
