211- Qwilfish

Generation

It belongs to Generation II.

Types

Qwilfish Pokemon has two types, water and poison.

Evolutions

Qwilfish cannot evolve into or from any other Pokémon. In Hisui, the two types of Qwilfish are Dark and Poison regional forms. It changes into Over Qwiel using its Barb Barrage at least 20 times.

Characteristics

Qwilfish sucks in water, inflating itself. This Pokémon uses the pressure of the water it swallowed to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body. It finds swimming somewhat challenging.

This Qwilfish Pokémon has a flat and a round body. It lives in the sea. It has dark teal and yellow on its body. It has a tall, thin paddle-like tail with a dark teal color on the outside, a light yellow color inside, and two dark dots in the center. Its eyes always look angry.

It has puffy pink lips below its eyes. There are sharp, cone-like spikes on its body, which rise from scales over time.

The Qwilfish drinks almost 2.6 gallons of water to enlarge its body before attacking. Then, it uses the water to attack its enemies, causing them to faint. The Qwilfish is a poor swimmer due to its round body, especially when it is filled with water.

Because of its diet, the Qwilfish in Hisui looks different from its Johto version. Its body is light yellow in the lower half and black with dark purple tips on the black spikes in the upper half. Its forehead has small spikes. Qwilfish’s eyes have purple curves under them, and their lips are also purple. In addition, it now has a q-shaped tail with a black and purple color scheme.

The local fishers hate the Hisui Qwilfish because of its poison, which harms humans who fish in the oceans. Only the Hisui Qwilfish and Overqwil can use the Barb Barrage move.
