Pineco

Japanese: クヌギダマ Kunugidama

Pineco sticks tree bark to itself with its saliva, making itself thicker and larger. Elderly Pineco are ridiculously huge.

Pinecos are bug-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation II. They evolve into Forretress, starting at Level 31.

Characteristics

Pinecos are small, blue-green Pokémon. They are pine cone-like in shape. They are also called the Bagworm Pokémon. They weigh only about 7.2 kilograms or 15.9 pounds. They are 0.6 meters tall and have a Medium Fast leveling rate. They have red eyes with black pupils.

There are no visible limbs in their body. They have a single spike present on top of their head. This is supposed to be the stem. They make their shells thicker by gluing tree bark to their body. The glue for the process is made from fluids that Pinecos spit out. This fluid hardens when it is exposed to air.

They are mostly not bothered by the added weight on their shells. They hang from tree branches and go about their day. Their hard shells protect them from the pecking of birds and other animals. They can be seen waiting to prey on flying insects. They are found living in tropical and temperate forests.

In Alola, their favorite prey is Cutiefly. They are immobile and drop to the ground, causing an explosion. This occurs when someone shakes the tree that they are on when they are eating. Their species are 50% males and 50% females, with no distinct difference between them. They are known to self-destruct themselves at the slightest disturbance but are otherwise very calm species.
