Mareep

Japanese: メリープ Merriep

Mareep is a generation II electric-type pokemon that evolves at level 15 to become a Flaafy. A further evolution at level 30 changes it into an Ampharos.

Characteristics

Mareep is a sheep-like pokemon. Its entire body is covered in fluffy, cream-colored wool leaving only his blue face and feet exposed. His blue face has beads-like black eyes, and each of his feet has two digits giving him a tip-toe standing position.

His head also has a thick wool tuft between his two pointed yellow and black conical ears. It also has a conical black and yellow striped tail with an orange sphere at its end that glows as it stores more electricity.

Mareep’s wool continues to store charge and grow, rubbing together and getting a static charge. As the amount of charge increases, the volume of the fleece also increases. Touching the wool in its charged state will result in a static shock.

In addition to charge, the fleece also traps air in it, building an insulating barrier providing warmth during winter and limiting heat loss during winters.

In summers, the fleece sheds but grows back in a week. Mareep has a peaceful nature and avoids battles in the wild. Instead, it prefers to live in grasslands and farms where the fleece can be used to make good-quality clothing.
