Abilities

Volt-Absorb

Whenever an electric-type move hits this Pokemon, it heals for 1/4 of its maximum HP, negating any other effect on it. This ability will not take effect if this Pokemon is ground-type and thus immune to Electric moves. Electric moves will ignore this Pokemon's substitute. This effect includes non-damaging moves, i.e. thunder wave.

Illuminate

Overworld: If the lead Pokemon has this ability, the wild encounter rate is doubled. This ability has no effect in battle.

Hidden Abilities

Water-Absorb

Whenever a water-type move hits this Pokemon, it heals for 1/4 of its maximum HP, negating any other effect on it. Water moves will ignore this Pokemon's substitute.

Lanturn

Japanese: ランターン Lantern

Lanturn pokemon has two types, water, and Electric. It belongs to generation II. It evolves from Chinchou at Level 27.

Characteristics

Lantern is a blue, fish-like Pokémon. It resembles anglerfish. It weighs around 22.5 kilograms or 49.6 pounds and is 1.2 meters tall with a slow leveling rate. It has white and red eyes, and there are yellow markings around its eyes. These yellow markings make it look like Lanturn is wearing a mask.

It has tiny sky-blue fins. It has a shark-like tail that is made from fins. The lower half of its tail is yellow, and the upper half is blue with smooth edges. There is a Y-shaped antenna on its back.

The antenna has a special circular ball at each tip. This is a modification of its tail fin. Its specie is 50% male and 50% female. The circular ball on its antenna has special bacteria that produce light.

It does so by absorbing Lanturn’s body fluids. It lures its prey using the glow of its antenna balls and blinds them by using intense flashes. It then proceeds to swallow them whole. The flash created by Lanturn is visible on the surface of the water from over three miles or five kilometers.

This is why it got a nickname called “The Deep-Sea Star.”

It competes with Lumineon when they are catching their prey, Starmies. They are hunted by Sharpedos and Frillish. They are found living in the ocean.
