Quilava

Japanese: マグマラシ Magmarashi

Quilava is a fire-type Pokémon. It belongs to Generation II. It evolves from Cyndaquils level 14 or Level 17, and then it further evolves to become Typhlosion at Level 26. Finally, it also evolves into Hisuian Typhlosion at Level 36.

Characteristics

Quilava is a dark-blue Pokémon with a long, slender body. Its underside is cream-colored. It has four legs, and it weighs around 19 kilograms or 41.9 pounds. It is 0.9 meters tall with a Medium Slow leveling rate.

It has triangular eyes with dark-red interiors and a round nose. Its paws have three fingers each. There are five red spots spread all over their body. These spots can project flames.

Two of these spots are arranged vertically on their forehead, and three are lined up horizontally on their rear side. It’s a male-dominant Pokémons, with 87.5% males and 12.5% females.

Before it goes into battle, it turns towards its back so its flames face its opponent. It battles with its opponent using a combination of its deadly flames and the intense power of superheated air. Its hairs are non-flammable and protect it from the opponent’s fire attacks.

It’s rarely found in the wild and can sometimes live in grasslands. The furs of Quilava are very mysterious due to their immunity to fire. It’s an aggressive Pokémon and is very fierce during battles. When it is exposed to the mysterious energy of Mount Coronet in Hisui, it goes through a massive change in evolution.

It evolves into Hisuian Typhlosions and gains all the extraordinary powers of Ghost-type Pokémon of that region.
