Whenever this Pokemon is burned, paralyzed, or poisoned, the Pokemon who gave this Pokemon that ailment is also given the ailment. This ability passes back bad poison when this Pokemon is badly poisoned. This ability cannot pass on a status ailment that the Pokemon did not directly receive from another Pokemon, such as the poison from toxic spikes or the burn from a flame orb. Overworld: If the lead Pokemon has this ability, wild Pokemon have a 50% chance of having the lead Pokemon's nature, and a 50% chance of being given a random nature as usual, including the lead Pokemon's nature. This does not work on Pokemon received outside of battle or roaming legendaries.

Mews are psychic-type mythical Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They are not known to evolve from any other Pokémon.

They are notable for their unique ability to learn every Technical Record, Technical machine, hidden Machine, and Move Tutor move. They are a member of the Mew duo along with Mewtwo.

Characteristics

Mews are pink, mammalian Pokémon. They have a rounded, white snout with large, triangular, blue eyes. They have short arms with three digits in their paws. Their tails are long and thin with an ovoid tip.

Their fur is very fine and can only be seen under a microscope. They have the DNA of every single Pokémon in their body and can learn to use any attack. They weigh 4 kilograms or 8.8 pounds. They are 0.4 meters tall with a Medium Slow leveling rate.

They are very intelligent, curious, and shy Pokémon. They are playful and selfless. They are adaptable and travel freely in the air or underwater. They create a green, pink, or yellow orb of energy around themselves for protection.

Mews were worshiped for their protection by indigenous people. They created folk songs in Mew’s honor and believed that it appears once a year with the rising sun. They were first discovered in the Guayana forest, 20 years before the events of the first generation. They can make themselves invisible at will, and therefore only very few people have seen them.

They only show themselves to people who are of pure heart and have a strong desire to see Mews. Scientists believed them to be extinct due to their shy nature. They are often sighted in the Guyana Forest in South America.
