Kabutops

Japanese: カブトプス Kabutops

Kabutops are dual-type Pokémon. They are both Rock-type and Fossil-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They evolve from Kabutos starting at Level 40 after being revived from a Dome Fossil.

Characteristics

Kabutos are fossil Pokémon with a skeletal build. They have a flat, half-circular head. Their head is pointed on each side. They have two small eyes on the front. They are mostly brown except for their light-gray chest and abdomen.

There are ridges down their backs with three flat spines on each side. They have a flat, pointed tail. Instead of hands, their forearms have sharp, gray scythes. Their legs are thin and brown with small feet and two large, gray claws on each. They weigh 40.5 kilograms or89.3 pounds. They are 1.3 meters tall with a Medium Fast leveling rate.

Before their extinction, Kabutops were evolving towards land-dwelling characteristics. This process was evident by the change in their gills and legs. This ought to be due to their prey’s land movement. They were primarily found in the ocean.

They could tuck up their limbs in their body to help them swim faster. Their speed could go up to 29 knots. They used their sharp scythes to slice their enemies and drink their internal fluids. The leftovers of their prey were consumed by other animals. The root cause of their extinction is still unknown, but their fossils are widely studied by scientists worldwide.
