Omastar

Japanese: オムスター Omstar

Omstars are dual-type Pokémon. They are both Rock-type and Water-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They evolve from Omanytes starting from Level 40. They are revived from Helix Fossils found in the ocean.

Characteristics

Omastars are fossil Pokémon. They are similar to ammonite. They are extremely similar to their previous form. They possess a sky-blue body with several blue tentacles. The tentacles towards the front of their body are shorter as compared to the ones on their back.

There is a pale-yellow, helix-spiral shell present on their back. They weigh around 35 kilograms or 77.2 pounds. They are 1 meter tall with a Medium Fast leveling rate. They are a male-dominated species with only 12.5% females in their overall population. There are several sharp spikes lining their shell’s midsection.

They are present from front to back. The shell’s rim has two circular notches. Their large eyes can be seen protruding from their notches. Their eyes have yellow sclera and vertical-slit pupils. They have an oval mouth with a four-sectioned, fang-like beak.

Scientists believed that their extinction was a consequence of their increasing weight. Their weight affected their mobility and made them easy prey for their predators. They swarm the seas in search of their prey and like to prey on prehistoric Shellders.

They attack when the prey approaches their tentacles and ensnare them before biting them down. Their fangs are powerful enough to break rocks. They would suck out the contents if their shells were broken. Carracostas like to prey on Omastars. They are believed to be distant ancestors to the Pokémon “Octillery.”
