Omanyte

Japanese: オムナイト Omnite

Omanytes are dual-type Pokémon. They are both Rock-type and Water Fossil Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They are resurrected from a Helix Fossil and evolve into Omastars starting from Level 40.

Characteristics

Omanytes are small, fossil Pokémon. They are similar to ammonites. They have a sky-blue body with ten tentacles and a pale-yellow, helix-spiral shell on their backs. The shell’s rim has two circular indents. Their large saucer-like eyes protrude from these indents.

They weigh around 7.5 kilograms or 16.5 pounds. They are 0.4 meters tall with a Medium Fast leveling rate. They are male dominant species, with only 12.5% of them being females.

Omanytes are extinct Pokémon. They can be revived from their fossils. Their fossils have been excavated in areas where oceans were long ago. Omanytes regulate their ability to float in water by storing and releasing air in their hard shells.

Their shell armor also provides them protection from their predators. They control the direction of their movements by twisting their tentacles in different directions. They primarily feed on planktons. They are preyed on by different Pokémon such as Archeops and Carracostas.

They used to be found in oceans as fossils, but they are not widely released by people. They are also escaping after being restored to life and hence can be found in the wild in large numbers. Their fossils are studied closely by scientists and kept in museums around the world to be observed.
