Japanese: メタモン Metamon

Dittos are normal-type Pokémon. They were first introduced in Generation I. They are not known to evolve from any other Pokémon.

They can breed with any Pokémon except Pokémon from the undiscovered group, other dittos, and some gender-unknown Pokémon. They do so to produce eggs of different species.

Characteristics

In their natural state, Dittos are light-purple or pink Pokémon. They are lightweight, weighing about 4 kilograms or 8.8 pounds. They are 0.3 meters tall. They are blob-like in appearance and have minor facial features.

They are referred to as amorphous. They have two small nubs on their head and a few soft lumps on their base. They have two protrusions in place of their arms. Their face has beady eyes and a simple mouth that always seems to be smiling.

Dittos can transform into a replica of any physical object. They also exhibit the forms and abilities of that physical object. Each ditto has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to transformations.

Some dittos cannot transform while laughing and get the details of the transformation wrong. It occurs when they are transforming based on their memory. Occasionally, Dittos cannot change their facial features during transformation.

Their transformation ability allows them to get along with all Pokémon and make many friends. However, they do not get along well with other Dittos. They transform into a rock while sleeping to avoid getting attacked.

They are never far from civilizations and are the only Pokémon capable of using the Metal Powder and Quick Powder items. Their unusual and unique traits set them apart from all the other Pokémon and make them special.
