Starmie

Japanese: スターミー Starmie

Starmies are dual-type Pokémon. They are both water-type and psychic-type Pokémon. They were first introduced in Generation I. They evolve from Staryus when exposed to a Water Stone. They can be found in the deepest parts of the ocean.

Characteristics

Starmies are violet-colored Pokémon. They resemble two starfish joined together with five appendages in one’s body. There are ten appendages or arms present in one Starmie’s body. They weigh around 80 kilograms or 176.4 pounds.

They are 1.1 meters tall with a slow leveling rate. The starfish present on the front have golden formations in the center of their bodies. A red jewel is present within its core that can glow in seven different colors.

The starfish on their back is semi-attached to the back of the first one and has the ability to spin 360 degrees. Their rotation enables Starmies to swim in the ocean. In addition, they can launch themselves out of the water and fly in the air to attack other Pokémon in fights.

They can emit electrical waves from their core that are powerful enough to reach the furthest part of the universe. Their glowing is said to be their mode of communication with other Starmies, and their core goes dark when they are unconscious.
Their core flickers when they are tired or low on health. Due to their body shape and transmission towards the sky, people believe Starmies to be extraterrestrial Pokémon. They are rarely seen in the wild as they evolve from an evolution stone.

They feed by absorbing tiny planktons while swimming. Lumineons are known to prey on Starmie’s limbs in the ocean.
