Horsea

Japanese: タッツー Tattu

Horseas are water-type Pokémon. They were first introduced in Generation I. They evolve into Seadras starting from Level 32.

They evolve into Kingdra upon trading while holding a Dragon Scale. They are found near coral reefs and islands throughout oceans having gentle currents.

Characteristics

Horseas are light-blue Pokémon. They look like seahorses. They have red eyes and a long, tubular mouth. They have three spike-like fins on each side of their head. They have a ridged belly and a single fin.

Their belly and fin are cream-colored. They use their fins for swimming in any direction they want while facing forward. Their tails are curled and used for balancing their weight. They also use their tails for anchoring down when they are caught up in a strong current.

When the environment is safe, they use their tail to play with other Horseas. They are lightweight Pokémon, weighing about 8 kilograms or 17.6 pounds. They are 0.4 meters tall with a medium-fast leveling rate.

Horseas feed primarily on insects and moss gathered from rocks. Whenever they sense danger, they spray a dense black ink from their mouth at their attacker. They shoot very precisely at insects flying above the water.

They lay many eggs every year. Male Horseas raise the young ones instead of the female ones. They swim in dance-like motions and are swift swimmers. They create whirlpools while swimming and compete with other Horseas to see who creates the biggest whirlpool.
