Pokémon Description

Though it may look like it’s just a bunch of eggs, it’s a proper Pokemon. Exeggcute communicates with others of its kind via telepathy, apparently.

These Pokemon get nervous when they’re not in a group of six. The minute even one member of the group goes missing, Exeggcute become cowardly.

Exeggcute

Japanese: タマタマ Tamatama

Exeggcute are dual-type Pokémon. They are both psychic-type and grass-type Pokémon. They were first introduced during Generation I. They evolve into Exeggcutor when they are exposed to a Leaf Stone.

In the Alolan region, Exeggcute evolves into Alolan Exeggutor when exposed to a Leaf Stone. They are known to inhabit jungles and forests.

Characteristics

Exeggcute are egg-like Pokémon, resembling six light pink eggs. They are usually seen arranged in a pattern, with five stacked around a sixth one. Each of these heads has a slightly different facial expression.

However, they all share triangular eyes with tiny pupils and small mouths. They all have some cracks. One member usually has their yellow insides or brain exposed through their cracks. If their cracks are severe, it means that they are close to evolution.

They are closely related to plant seeds and are believed to carry genes of seed and plants. They weigh 2.5 kilograms or 5.5 pounds and are 0.4 meters tall.

They gather in swarms of six. They communicated with each other using a form of telepathy that only Exeggcute could understand. If a member is reduced, the remaining five Exeggcute will try to replace that member with a Pokémon of similar size.

This behavior was seen in the anime. They need six Exeggcute to stay balanced. Otherwise, they become nervous. Pidgeotto and Crabrawler feed on them. Exeggcute chase them off with psychokinesis.

Exeggcute in the Alolan region are heavier than those elsewhere. This extra weight is due to their shells being packed full. Exeggcute evolves into Exeggutor and are the only known Pokémon that can learn Barrage.
