Characteristics

Bulbasaur is a small, quadrupedal reptilian creature with blue-green skin covered in dark spots. It has red eyes, white pupils, and a single green gem on its forehead. A small bulb grows from the back of its neck. Two large teeth protrude from its upper jaw, and it has a wide mouth. It has small, pointed ears with reddish-pink insides. Each of its feet has three toes, and its tail is short and blunt, with a brown bulb on the end that releases pollen.

As a starter Pokémon, Bulbasaur is one of the first Pokémon the player obtains in Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, FireRed, and LeafGreen. It is also obtainable in Yellow by starting with Pikachu and evolving it into Ivysaur. Bulbasaur can be found at the beginning of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

Bulbasaur is a versatile Pokémon that can learn moves of various types, including Grass, Poison, Fire, Ice, Flying, and Psychic. It is one of the few Pokémon that can learn to move solar beam early. In addition, Bulbasaur can be used as a sleeper due to its ability to learn moves like stun spore and poison powder. It can go for days without eating a single morsel. In the bulb on its back, it stores energy.
